JOB TITLE
IM Lead - SAP Application Development

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for performing/managing ABAP development activities such as Incident Diagnostics, Break-Fix changes, System enhancements and new Reports, Interface, Conversion, Enhancements, and Form (smart forms) development.
Responsible for working between IT Application Services Security and Risk Management team, SAP functional teams, the business and other stakeholders to translate incoming SAP Application Development user requirements from various business units into work-packets for execution by the ERP SAP Application Development Factory, and co-ordinate their delivery to align with business priorities.
Delivery Execution Leadership for SAP Application Development - Responsible to deliver Quality software on time, as per the agreed upon design for SAP Application Development related services for the SAP Platforms assigned to him/her.
Responsible for calculating and tracking SAP Application Development related services using appropriate Metrics, Drive Improvements and demonstrate & deliver the services in a Faster, Better and add more value for Business.
Factory Execution Management - Responsible for delivering Status related dashboards at appropriate intervals for Management review.
Responsible for ensuring that the Application Services IT Partners are providing the services per the SOW terms and conditions and are working at optimum offshore leverage & improving their overall delivery of services & cost to the Operating Companies.
Create and execute project-to-base business support knowledge transfer plans.
Maintain superior knowledge SAP ABAP/4 development tool, EDI/IDOC, SAP Workflow. Experience in SAP PI, EP and other SAP Net weaver tools & Team Leadership is a plus.
GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES (briefly explain the top responsibilities)
Responsibilities:
Support J&J SAP Platforms from SAP Technical Development Perspective in development & testing
Understand Business Unit Requirements, Functional specifications and create/update Technical specifications
Develop/Modify SAP Custom RICEF developments
Prepare Unit Test plan and conduct Unit tests or Review
Guide the IT Partners team of SAP Technical consultants on the Technical Design based on Functional Inputs
Responsible for making sure the technical teams follow J&J SDLC.
Code walk thru of Deliverables
Leverage SAP work completed at other J&J SAP projects.
Make sure technical teams adhere to J&J Compliance, Computer System Validation, and Corporate Security policies and procedures.
Assist vendor Factory manager with prioritization of work packages.
Manage escalations for any technical or design queries from the Factory.
Ensure IT partners are bringing in appropriately skilled resources, visit IT partners sites periodically, understand team dynamics, ensure optimum offshore leverage, utilization and appropriate mapping of resources & tasks
Work within the Application Services team to develop the resource / skill mix requirements and forecast for the delivery centers
Work with the IT Partners to ensure the delivery of projects per the SOW and also ensuring that the capacity & skills are built in the centers to meet the forecasted demand
Work with IT Partners to drive continuous improvements to the project delivery and performance metrics
Provide regular, frequent and detail-appropriate reports back to Operating Company leadership team about the current status of projects & delivery, delivery strategies, vendor performance, and industry trends
Key Skills:
SAP ABAP Programming Experience
Proven track record in handling SAP ABAP related development and support activities as a Developer or SME.
Skilled in troubleshooting, debugging, code and performance optimization.
Basic Functional Knowledge in SAP SD, FI and MM modules.
Understanding of SAP R/3 Architecture, Internal Tables, Data Dictionary (Structures, Database Tables, Views, Primary / Foreign Keys, Index, Search & Helps).
Screen Painter (Flow Logic - PBO / PAI Events) and Linking with ABAP Editor, Implicit Controls , Explicit Controls (Radio buttons, Checkbox, Table Control, Tab strip Control)
Calling Screens From Reports, Starting Reports From Screens, Menu Painter, Reports (Classical / Interactive / ALV) , Batch Data Communication (Call Transaction Method / Session Method)
Sap Scripts / Smart forms, User-Exit- Enhancements and configurations.
Knowledge of Cross Application Technologies like BAPI & ALE/ IDoc"s.
Experience in Workflow, Worked on applications using Net weaver.
