JOB TITLE: Business Analyst/Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Acts as the liaison between internal clients and Technology departments in support of the development of a customer-focused SaaS product by planning, conducting, and directing the business requirements analysis and project management activities of the product and its integration onto operational systems and processes. Collaborates with business sponsors to develop business cases in support of projects, and champions the definition of business needs and requirements for implementation by Technology teams. Participates in or facilitates business analysis, process modeling and research efforts. Understands business and system requirements as the analysis that drives the design and implementation of the product and supporting system, including enhancements and client implementation projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

o    Acts as a liaison between internal business units as clients and the Technology teams including Product Engineering, Production Support and Information Technology by:

o    Provides a single point of contact for business acting as a conduit between business and technology. Brings or develops a deep understand of the business needs and is able to translate readily between business need and technology implications.

o    Proactively engages with all stakeholders to conducts interviews and elicits documents and reviews detailed business and/or functional requirements.

o    Own documentation of all requirements and changes to a level of detail that Product Engineering can implement, leveraging standard  Documentation and Specification formats and templates

o    Own all Conceptual and Logical models for the products Functional, Systems and Data domains in conformance to industry and data compliance (HIPAA) standards and best practice and adherence to enterprise standards along with supporting documentation.

o    Champions with peers on:

oUse of industry wide data and integration standards

oProduct User Experience development and adherence to enterprise standards

oBusiness/System Analysis and Project Management centers of excellence

oAdoption and ongoing evolution of ’s Product Development Processes

o    Ensures prioritized business needs are properly translated to provide sufficient documentation to enable efficient implementation

o    Ensures all developed and proven requirements related to changes and/or product enhancements look to improve efficiency and quality of service to both the end customer and internal business client usage

o    Brings a technology perspective to the business in identifying, evaluating, and developing product and process needs and procedures that are cost effective and meet or exceed business requirements

o    Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer business and technical processes for greater efficiencies

o    Participates in root cause analysis in order to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and IT

o    Maintains open lines of communication to monitor and improve customer satisfaction with IT

o    Acts as a project manager on all product development projects, and may act as project manager for Client Implementations

o    Ensures that all product and project documentation is actively maintained, employing traceability, change control and managed checkpoint process and signoff with each iteration

o    Participates in QA, testing and troubleshooting

REQUIREMENTS:

o    Strong analytical skills, with external facing product development experience including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer and internal client business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

o    Proven excellent documentation and writing skills

o    Proven knowledge, understanding and practical application of Business, Process and System Analysis best/standard practices, techniques and tools, approaches and deliverables in areas of function, process, behavior and information

o    Ability to understand and apply product development and project management methodologies.

o    Ability to lead the User Experience specification; and assess usability and efficiency of operation

o    Basic programming, development or technical knowledge

o    Must be able to clearly understand and articulate the business, product, project and implied technical requirements

o    Excellent communication, analytical, facilitation and negotiation skills

o    Knowledge of competition and healthcare information technology industry standards and developments

EDUCATION:

o    BS in Business or Computer Science

EXPERIENCE:

o    Minimum of 3-7 years’ experience with:

      • Product development experience (SaaS experience preferred)
      • Business operations or systems development, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Developing conceptual and logical data models

o    Minimum of two large-scale projects to have developed a deep knowledge of the application and development of structured step-wise use cases, data modeling, and user experience, and associated functional and non-functional requirements

o    Recent experience in developing wire frames for both web and client server applications.

o    Deep proficiency with MS Office based tools

o    Project management experience a significant plus (PMP preferred)

o    Ability to present information both visually and in narrative form

o    Ability to facilitate meetings, including agenda and meeting note development

o    Ability to understand technical implication of requirements developed and sanity check technical design

o    Ability to elicit requirements from subject matter experts, understand vague concepts and articulate functionality in detailed requirements

o    High attention to detail, excellent communicator both verbal and written

o    Healthcare information technology experience preferred, including knowledge of HIPAA
