       Title:  Sr. SharePoint Architect

       Location:  Raleigh/Durham  NC

       Start date:   ASAP

       Duration:  11-12 Months

  
Responsibilities:

.  As the SharePoint capability became known across the organization, the demand for it continued to increase.  Multiple business areas have requests to develop and implement different applications built on the SharePoint platform to help them manage their business processes and to serve as a document repository. 

In order to leverage and grow the SharePoint capabilities, usage and adoption in an structured and organized way, Arysta has decided to contract with an external consultant who can help design the architecture for such growth, help manage/prioritize the business demand with a formal governance process, and help in the actual development and implementation of new processes and applications based on SharePoint.

The initial contract period is up to December 2014, and assessment for conversion to permanent status and or renewal is possible.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

·         5+ years hands-on work on SharePoint in a developer role with programming experience

·         2+ years experience on SharePoint in an architect role

·         Working knowledge of SharePoint 2010 and 2013 including SharePoint Server, SharePoint Foundation and SharePoint Designer

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Database, Analysis, Integration and Reporting Services in connection with SharePoint

·         Working knowledge of client web development (XML, XSL, ASP .NET, AJAX, HTML, Java Script, Powershell) in connection with SharePoint, complete from back end to Windows or Web Forms front end Enterprise integration technologies (Microsoft BizTalk, MSMQ, Web Services, Remoting) Microsoft Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration technologies (SharePoint Portal Server / Windows SharePoint Services, Content Management Server, Office SharePoint Server 2007, Office Live Communications Server, Microsoft Groove Server 2007)

·         Familiar with SharePoint migration tools (such as Vizit)

·         Working knowledge of Agile methodology

·         Fluent in English, proficiency in other languages a plus (French, Portuguese, Japanese)

 

This contractor plays a central role in the complete SharePoint solution development lifecycle including:

·         (30%) Overall SharePoint Architecture on a centralized global environment

·         (20%)  Solution Design

·         (30%)  Solution Development & Implementation

·         (20%)  Solution Support

 

The key responsibilities in these areas will be:

1.      Overall Architecture:

·         Have a thorough understanding and keep up to date knowledge of the MS SharePoint stack (2010, 2013)

·         Lead SharePoint governance activities

·         Provide thought leadership on best practices for architectural design

·         Have a thorough understanding of integration between MS SharePoint and other Business Applications (ERP, BI, CRM, etc. *SAP tools preferred*)

2.       Solution Design:

·         Understand and assess business requirements for new solutions

·         Translate business requirements into technical requirements

·         Design solutions to cover the business requirements by identifying and recommending the technologies that should be used and integrated in every case in accordance to the best practices for architectural design

·         Estimate the cost and time associated with the development and implementation of the solutions designed

3.       Solution Development and Implementation:

·         Configure solutions in SharePoint using native SharePoint functionality as well as .NET web development tools and SQL Server Database tools

·         Create functional and technical design documents

·         Delegate, supervise and review the work of others (internal and outsourced resources, located on-site and off-shore)

·         Design and participate in testing and training activities with technical resources and business users

4.       Solution Support:

·         Define the process and structure for support of live SharePoint sites and applications

·         Troubleshoot issues and determine the fixes

·         Implement the fixes or supervise the provision of fixes by others (internal and outsourced resources, located on-site and off-shore)
