Role: Senior ETL (DataStage) Developer
Location: Fountain Inn, SC
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Description:
The Senior ETL Developer will have primary responsibility for core ETL (DataStage) development for data movement, data cleansing, and other ETL-related activities. This position will be required to act as technical lead on projects requiring ETL development, and will mentor other ETL developers within the organization. It will be necessary for this position to participate in development as well as design. The candidate is expected to have deep knowledge of DataStage and Oracle database design. The candidate must possess expert level skills in Data Warehousing and ETL processes. Responsibilities range from architecting, designing and planning business intelligence solutions, configuring BI services, and aggregating data from multiple sources into a data warehouse.
Job Responsibilities:
· Core ETL (DataStage) development for data movement, data quality, data cleansing and other ETL-related activities
· Communicate with the Business Users and Solution Architects for converting the ETL design into specific development activities
· Design, implement, and/or operate comprehensive process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction
· Create supporting documentation, such as metadata and diagrams of entity relationships, business process, and process flow.
· Troubleshoot ETL processes failures or warnings and provide technical support for all ETL related issues as well as Warehouse reports and analysis tools
· Provide technical expertise && knowledge of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) solutions for data integration projects and other developers.
· Prepare deployment packages, e.g. deployment documentation, DSX backups.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
· Candidate must be a quick learner and have demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
· In depth knowledge of BI/Data Warehouse concepts
· Data modeling
· ETL methods
· Strong analytical, conceptual and technical skills
· Be able to develop and document procedures, guidelines and specifications
· Should be comfortable talking to and working with the IT resources and business users – gathering requirements and creating technical specs
Qualifications:
· BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent business degree/work experience
· Minimum 5+ years experience in Business Intelligence and ETL Process
· Minimum 3+ years experience in DataStage 7.x/8.x/9.x
· Minimum 3+ years of experience with Oracle database
· Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite is a plus
· Cognos experience is a plus
· DB2 experience is a plus
