SAP BASIS
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Duration: 6 Months+
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
The Basis Administrator applicant should have a variety of experience in the ABAP and Java Modules. They should have experience in troubleshooting in both SAPGUI as well as via OS/Linux/Unix platforms and understand the aspects of storage and networking as it applies to the landscapes. The admin should have in-depth of monitoring the systems both locally on the instance as well as managing the solution manager landscape tools. We manage an 8 landscape system from Training and Sandbox through Production (with alternate environments) and support a 20+ active SAP module landscape with the full accompaniment of middleware application which interfaces with systems
Roles and responsibility
Specialized knowledge on isolating problems when end users or programs do not function properly
o Tracing ability and isolation of problems with DB and application
o A intermediate to expert understanding of Unix Operating system commands and functions and functionality to determine problems or processes
- Active monitoring processes
o A intermediate to expert understanding of Unix Operating system commands and functions and functionality to determine problems or processes
o Daily monitoring and support for system issues and end user assistance for problem resolution and identification
o Weekly for immediate trends and watch management
o Early Watch and System Level Reporting analysis
- Daily support for system change and end user assistance
o Change process for active configurations and understanding of how transporting and modifiable components
o Understand basic customer requirements for end user support
o Documentation of processes following ITIL definition and design (including documentation of issues and troubleshooting procedure)
o Service request following ITIL process for incident, problem, and change processes
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills
- Understanding of ECC, CRM, SRM, PI, Portal, SCM, LiveCache, GRC, BW, BI, Syclo, and Cronacle modules
- Precise Tool
- Solution Manager and it’s monitoring and maintenance functionality
- Ability to understand and learn middleware tools geared towards Grainger systems
- Unix SUSE SLES 10 and Oracle Solaris 10 preferred
- Service Now tool use and process for ITIL
- SharePoint knowledge
