DB2 DBA
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills "Must have:
• 3+ years experience with good knowledge of DB2 version 9.1 on the z/O platform
• Must have worked on Mainframe TSO & ISPF experience, Experience of mainframe test and development environments, JCL coding,REXX
• Must have experience with large to very large databases in the 10TB and larger range.
• Candidate should be familiar with DB2 utilities and how to trouble-shoot using IBM DB2 and AIX commands.
• Proficiency in the use of DB2 Object migration, management and monitoring tools
• Effective utilization and monitoring of DB2 storage and experience in capacity planning
• Working experience with Database logical and physical design concepts and techniques
• Database Definition Language (DDL)
• Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools"
Roles and responsibility "• Incident and Service Desk request management.
• Interacting with customer and focus on discovering customer needs and finding out how to best meet them.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, execute them by complying to processes and towards timely completion. Follow all the customer processes.
• Provide timely status reporting to the customer.
• Work with offshore team on day to day basis
• Proactive and should be able to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Client / Vendor interaction, responding to their requests in a timely and appropriate manner
• Status and metrics reporting
• Provides DB2 security, provide assistance for BIND problems
• Monitors and tunes database performance during testing and production operations; coordinates and implements database sizing/resizing, restructures and index rebuilds; assists with capacity planning for future database growth; documents benchmarks and procedures needed to optimize performance; ensure that all performance guidelines are followed
• Maintains detailed knowledge of all database administration processes, procedures, and quality standards"
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills "Good to have:
Retail domain knowledge, Project lead/management experience is plus"
