Job Title: Cognos Developer

Duration: 6 months plus

Location: downtown Chicago IL,(Must be local)

Client in downtown Chicago is seeking a Cognos Developer for a long term contract opportunity.

Must have version 10.0 and this person will also have strong report development experience along with strong Cognos Administration experience. SQL query experience is also important.

They are looking for someone with strong administration experience, more server side admin and experience with dispatches.

Responsibilities

· The job involves developing and supporting complex Cognos 10 reports and cubes.

· Works closely with Analytics and Marketing users to understand informational needs and business challenges, document those requirements, and translate into Business Intelligence solutions

· Dash Board Development

· Report Development

· Framework Manager metadata development

· Cognos 10 Administration and tuning in multi-tiered environment

Qualifications

· The candidate should have strong knowledge of database concepts and SQL

· 4+ years of experience working with Cognos reporting environment (Report Studio/Analysis Studio/Framework Manager/Transformer

· 5-10 years of experience administering and configuring a Cognos reporting environment

· Performance tuning of reports and cubes

· Must be capable of handling everything from simple Cognos Framework and/or report development projects through complex upgrades/migrations and installations

· Ability to develop/work in a variety of Cognos Studios (Report Studio, Event Studio, Query Studio, etc.)

· Experienced in Framework Manager modeling and development.

· Experienced with building transformer cubes.

· Experienced with automating cube builds

· Experienced with Cognos security implementation.

· Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
