Role: Firmware Engineer/Developer

Location: Milwaukee or Cleveland

Duration: 1 – 2 Year           

Interview: Phone / Skype.

 

Description:

·         Designing, documenting, and developing firmware used to verify and validate hardware designs.

·         Design  initial project specifications and execute through the entire development cycle.

·         Designing and coding embedded control system electronics and hardware interfaces.

·         Delegate and oversee embedded real-time firmware development using C/C++, and other middle to high-level languages.

·         Designing and developing component and system level diagnostics for board design verification and validation.

·         Utilize embedded firmware development tools, including the capability to debug, step through code and perform traces.

·         Problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting software/hardware issues.

 

Requirements:

·         5+ years of embedded real-time firmware development using C/C++ and other middle to high-level languages.

·         5+ years of Linux and/or Kernel experience

·         5+ years of Python, or other scripting language

·         2+ years of Agile methodology experience

·         Excellent Software background and strong understanding of Hardware is required. Solid driver-level experience.

·         Familiarity with embedded firmware development tools, including the capability to debug, step through code and perform traces if needed. Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems which involve both firmware and hardware.

·         Proven ability to develop embedded firmware that optimizes run-time performance, memory requirements, and code reuse.

·         Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills and ability to present regularly to technical leads.

 

Preferred:

·         B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related

·         Git/patching experience

·         Bitbake/yocto/open-embedded knowledge

·         Familiarity/Experience with Scrum

·         x86 and x86_64, Intel processors

·         Coreboot and U-Boot
