"POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide technical leadership for Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems, with special focus on Directory platforms, including Active Directory & Virtual Directory. This role is responsible for successful design, engineering and operation of directory platforms and delivering on projects and initiatives for future capabilities and business requirements.
This person will lead technical and security projects for IAM/Directory systems including planning, configuration, testing, and implementation, and act as a lead in diagnosing, resolving, and avoiding issues in collaboration with other team members.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Technical Operations
o Implement, operate, and manage existing directory solutions as needed to meet business requirements
o Ensure system security, availability, capacity, and performance, including ownership for logging, monitoring, and alerting standards, processes, and systems
o Provide escalated support for complex technical issues
o Plan and manage system upgrade and patching projects, in collaboration with local and offshore teams
o Research and escalate open issues or recurring problems to determine root causes and resolutions
o Communicate with vendors to understand and research open issues, new versions/changes, and license agreements
• Project Delivery
o Participates on large-scale IT and Business projects to assist with solution design and implementation, including acquisitions, integrations, and divestitures.
o Provides technical design and engineering assistance to other project teams requiring directory services.
o Works with and advises clients in areas assigned on project needs and design.
• Process Improvement
o Analyze, design, document, and implement technical or process improvements within current standards and architecture
o Define and develop policies and procedures for system operations to ensure consistency, reduce rework, and improve quality
o Perform review of projects or support tickets from offshore partners to ensure standards are upheld and business needs are met
o Leads, plans, and implements best practices/standards for IAM technologies.
• Documentation
o Own and manage technical training documents for system operations and support
o Document SOPs, work instructions, and knowledge base articles as needed
o Define and document security or audit requirements for IAM systems based on high level IT policies
• Manage audit and security controls for in-scope systems.
• Maintain current, relevant industry knowledge to understand evolutions and advancements in the marketplace which could bring value to the team or the company
• May manage POC's to determine project requirements or feasibility
• Provides input, recommendations, and planning into the standards setting process for IAM overall.
• Ensures that Medtronic's systems and the information on them are protected in accordance with Medtronic's Information Protection Policies and Standards, as well as best Information Protection practices.
• Other responsibilities as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
• 9+ years of IT experience with B.A or B.S.; 7+ years of IT experience with M.A. or M.S."
