Job description:
• Determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks.
Education/Experience: • High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/related field required or equivalent work experience required.
• 2 to 4 years experience Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands. Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs.
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades.
• Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.
• Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas.
• Develop and implement solutions for network problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Competencies:
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
. • Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software Required Technical Skills:
• Two to four years with Cisco, Network & Transmission Control Prototype/Internet Protocol (TCPIP)
Additional Skills: • 2800 Branch Conversions on a 4 day rotation per week.
• Up to 25 sites per night.
• Staffing engineers to cover 24 hours for network conversion and next day follow up and prep for next nights uploads.
• 10 hours shifts per day M-F. Skills:
1. Viptella Platform experience a plus
2. Software Defined Networking (SDN) nice to have
3. Network Deploying Experience
4. Basic network troubleshooting.
