JOB DESCRIPTION: Database Administrator 
WORK LOCATION: 1000 Red River Street, Austin, TX 78701 
CITIZENSHIP: US Citizen preferred; will consider Green Card 
MAXIMUM RATE: $50-55/hr on c2c 
12 Months

Description of the responsibilities for this position. 

• Installing and upgrading the database server and application tools 
• Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system 
• Modifying the database structure/ Schema Changes, as necessary, from information given by application developers 
• Enrolling users and maintaining system security 
• Controlling and monitoring user access to the database 
• Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database 
• Maintaining archived data 
• Backing up and restoring databases 
• Generating various reports by querying from database as per need 
• Creating/ Update/ Review – SQL Application Queries 
• Data Mapping 

Skills Required: ALL REQUIRED SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION 

• Skills and Tools required for Microsoft SQL Server 2012: 
o Management Tools – Management Studio, SQL Profiler, SQL CMD, SQL Agent, Tuning Advisor 
o Programmability & Development Tools – T-SQL Queries (DML, DDL, TCL), SQL Data Tools 
o Security – User, Roles, Auditing 
o High Availability – Database Backup & Restore, Log Shipping, 
o Scalability and Performance – Indexing, Partitioning 
o RDBMS Manageability – PowerShell Scripting, Performance Report, Index Maintenance 
o Integration Services – Configuration, Import – Export, SSIS Designer, Data Profiling, Transformation 
o Reporting Services – Report Server Configuration 
• Data Modeling – Erwin (CA) and/or ErStudio (Embarcadero) 
• Microsoft Office 2013 – Word, Excel, Visio 
• Apache Subversion (SVN) - Versioning and Revision Control System 
• Environment: 
o Microsoft Server 2012 
o VMware Environment 


Optional Skills: 
• SQL Server 2012 – Replication, Analysis services 
• Certification – MCDBA or MCSA
