Job Title: Topaz Developer
Location: Reston, VA
Duration : Long Term
Specific duties include:
Develop interfaces across multiple management interfaces for the automated provisioning/de-provisioning of monitors for the centralized monitoring system.
Work closely with business application groups to understand and prioritize their requirements.
Ability to leverage API interfaces to support streamlined integration across various platforms.
Experience Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (desired).
Five to eight years of experience as a developer (systems engineering, integration, and implementation)
High level of interpersonal communication (verbal and written).
Direct experience with Enterprise Monitoring systems.
Technical Skill Requirements:
Programming and scripting:
Mandatory: VuGen,
Desirable: PERL, BOURNE/KORN/C-shell; UNIX platform skills
Desirable: SQL query language
Desirable: Oracle Platform experience
Enterprise monitoring and management technologies:
Required BSM/BPM (Topaz)
Desirable: HP Sitescope, IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM), Tivoli NetCool Omnibus, Impact, DASH/WebGUI.
Monitored environments: SUSE Linux, Solaris, Oracle, Sybase, DNS, Web firewalls, fireproofs, load balancers, global load balancers, portals.
Microsoft Office tools (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP Management Protocols.
Demonstrated Strong knowledge of Linux and Oracle.
Personal Skills:
Strong technical leadership skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and persistence.
Ability to understand strategic direction and target architecture.
Ability to understand cross-platform distribution/migration processes, and to document, develop and implement more efficient and reliable procedures.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and ability to apply them appropriately in gathering requirements and making recommendations.
Ability to develop a strong business relationship with individuals on the project team, partners and customers.
High level of interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
