Architect A. Position Description 1. A self-starting, hands-on Data Warehouse architect with full data life-cycle responsibility for a multi-billion dollar Global Real Estate management firm's Data Warehouse. B. Principal Accountabilities 1. Maintain Data Warehouse data management strategies, guiding principles, processes and standards. 2. Maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models. 3. Ensure data models are in compliance with Standards. 4. Set up and administer all database objects for the DW in SQL Server 2014 or higher 5. Assist Informatica Lead and ETL developers for Physical DDL creation 6. Assist Cognos Lead and report developers in mapping report requirements to data model, Report development, Report Metadata, etc. 7. Assist in Data Quality research and UAT 8. Write technical and business documents as well as produce and deliver oral presentations. 9. Troubleshoot and optimize the performance of Cognos reports, Informatica and SSIS packages, triggers, stored procedures, and related database objects 10. Direct the efforts of the local and offshore data team members C. Required Skills 1. Proven knowledge and experience implementing large scale BI/Data Warehouse solutions 2. Demonstrable record of data warehouse and ETL architectures, concepts and technologies. 3. Development and usage of Data Warehousing best practices and standards 4. Data Modeling and implementation experience (conceptual, logical and physical schemas, database creation and maintenance) 5. Analyze business requirements in various business functional areas and translate them into data models. 6. Highly organized and capable of handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously 7. Ability to think independently and work with various teams on projects 8. Ability to lead Data team to solve big problems with significant ambiguity 9. Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating scope, design, development issues and recommending potential solutions 10. Database Administration and Development skills including triggers, stored procedures 11. Excellent problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis 12. Able to coach and mentor other team members D. Required Experience 1. 10+ years of data warehouse architecture and implementation experience including hands-on solution design, architecture, development, and administration 2. 7+ years developing solutions using relational databases 3. 3+ years of Data Modeling experience (Data Warehouse conceptual, logical and physical schemas) 4. 5+ years Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or higher database technologies and structures 5. 5+ years SQL Server performance tuning and ETL optimization 6. Demonstrated skills creating and maintaining end to end data architectures including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, preferably with Informatica and SQL Server technologies 7. Expert level skills in Logical and Physical Data Modeling E. Desired Experience 1. Informatica ETL 2. Cognos report development 3. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Microsoft BI 4. Mixed on-shore and off-shore management and development
