JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary: This candidate will work on site at the Concord, CA location. This department is responsible for creating a reporting environment for vendor analytics. We are seeking an experienced MicroStrategy candidate. We are NOT seeking a candidate that only builds reports, but one who can also architect and administer the system. We are also seeking full project life cycle experience. The role is for a Senior BI Architect within the Vendor Analytics Team with responsibilities that include design and data modeling for end user reporting.
Typical responsibilities include:
Liaise with Business Analysts in translating business requirements into reporting solutions.
Define lookup and fact table information that would be used as underlying reporting tables.
Map the fields and tables to MicroStrategy Schema objects.
Build the relationship between the attributes, facts, and other objects within MicroStrategy.
Define Hierarchy and drill functionality within MicroStrategy.
Define Security profiles to access the information through MicroStrategy Web or desktop application.
Configure MicroStrategy components including Transaction Services, Enterprise Manager, Object Manager, and Command Manager.
Build report filters, prompts, templates and basic grid/graph report datasets in MicroStrategy.
Test and compare query execution and performance implications in MicroStrategy vs. direct database access.
Consultative role with Business Analysts on multi-dimensional BI reporting, structure and referential integrity.
Provide inputs to referential integrity checks, error handling in batch process to technology.
