DB2 System Administrator / System Programmer

Should preferably be a Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science or related / Electronics & Communication Engg or related
Should have minimum of supporting atleast 1 major international client in Database Administration (DB2) as a system DBA or a System DBA
Define DB2 resources: catalog and directory objects, WLM JCL, buffer pools, zparms, PROCS, resource limit tables
Install DB2 related software upgrades/fixes for software currency, hardware compatibility, new customer requirements and/or platform compatibility
Install, support and customize licensed DB2 software and related tools (client & 3rd party vendors)
Implement advanced features/function of DB2 software (e.g. DB2 Parallel Sysplex, DB2 Data Sharing, Load balancing, native XML, etc.)
Make recommendations with regard to aspects of DB2 systems infrastructure (e.g. application performance, database performance, data security, data usability)
Research, analyze and present suitable solutions to meet business and technical needs as a DBA (application or System DBA)
Should have strong work experience in DB2 administration specific areas like Application support, database maintenance and Performance optimization
Should have work experience in DB2 V8x or later
Work experience in CA Platinum Tools and Utilities, BMC Tools and Utilities, REXX, DB2 Connect, DB2 PM and Omegamon/DB2 an advantage
Should have worked on capacity planning exercises including load balancing across data sharing groups, storage sizing, DB2 sizing for EDM/Buffer pools
Should have excellent communication skills and willing to travel abroad as and when required on a short/long trips.
