Lead SQL Server Developer

SQL Server Developer in the Baltimore Metro area to support a large, high priority application and serve as a Lead.
The position is on a long term contract basis
The successful candidate will have adequate experience with SQL Server,
have an in depth understanding of Stored Procedures AND have good working experience in Core Java.
RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTS:
•Provide technical consultation and support in the development of business solutions using various tools (SQL Server, etc)
•Analyze business requirements and design documents, and write technical specifications
•Assist jr to mid-level developers with complex code
•Lead and/or perform modeling, simulations and analysis efforts
•Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs
•Participate in overall systems testing
•Support the migration of applications to production
•Develop new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures and designs user guides
•Lead solutions, including assignment of tasks, and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff
•Ensure new features are modeled to integrate with existing application and provide a consistent data model
•Develop and maintain documentation of the data architecture, data flow and data models
•Provide direction on adoption of new technologies and best industry practices in the field of data architecture and modeling
•8+ years of experience with SQL Server
•2+ years of experience supporting Java applications
