Role: Release Manager with ServiceNow 

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: Minneapolis, MN

 

Job Description:

This is our generic release manager job description.

This person must have ServiceNow implementation experience from a PMs lenses. Also this is an agile project, so if the person is stuck on waterfall only that will be a problem.

•           Enhance policies and processes that will be leveraged across Global IT

•           Utilize excellent organizational skills for managing, sequencing and scheduling of tasks and activities with an emphasis on coordinating work as well as release process compliance

•           Coaches, consults, plans, directs and coordinates release management activities to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within guidelines, standards with supportable technologies

•           Ensure use of standardized methods and techniques in the preparation, building, testing, implementation of changes and production transition with minimal impact on the business and system stability

•           Analysis of the process to identify bottlenecks, opportunities for improvement by comparing data against established process Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

•           Coordinate training schedules and plans with specific requirements of releases

•           Produce and maintain appropriate communications to all stakeholders regarding releases

•           Monitor major activities, ensuring the quality and integrity of the information solution, while providing consistency in content across the enterprise

•           Coaching, consultation and creation of cutover test and production transition plans

•           Assist in identifying and scheduling deliverables, milestones and required tasks

•           Assign responsibilities and scope of authority to project/technical personnel

•           Review status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules or plans as required

•           Prepare release reports for management and other stakeholders

•           Coordinate to provide technical advice and to resolve problems

•           Coach, consult, plan, coordinate, and direct cutover test & cutover execution for major critical platforms

•           Responsible for compliance to all corporate policies, SOX and audit controls for release activities

•           Partner with architecture representatives to ensure we leverage existing technology and solutions are supportable by the organization

•           Create/Maintain project plans utilizing Microsoft Project

•           Identify and communicate failed or unauthorized production system releases and changes

•           Implement corrective actions and ensure preventative measures are in place

•           Provide effective integration and interaction with other service support areas
