Job Description:
Highly technical Capacity Analyst with hands-on expertise in capacity monitoring and planning methodologies. Expertise in the environment management tools (e.g., Splunk, Hyperformix, SCOM, Extrahop, Tealeaf.) is required. Capacity Analyst will be responsible for generation of capacity and performance reports for executive, middle management and technical audiences. The individual must have highly analytic skills with the ability to identify existing capacity issues and forecast capacity bottlenecks. Individually or by leading subject matter teams to provide resolution to immediate and long term problems.

Responsibilities:
·Create and manage Capacity Database using various management tools data as input.
·Design, Produce and Analyze capacity reports, incidents, threshold warnings and crossings.
·Facilitate capacity reports review and create recommended changes together with the subject matter experts from Infrastructure and Application areas. Coordinate immediate and longer term capacity and performance issues resolution.
·Develop capacity management processes and standards.
·Review and develop documents (e.g. SLA, run book, etc.).
·Implement tools necessary to accomplish tasks, and ensure tools work correctly.
·Produce and maintain Capacity Plans that matches capacity/demand and provide management with regular reports including historical and projected usage.
·Ensure that services and infrastructure are able to deliver the agreed capacity targets in a cost effective and timely manner. Consider all resources required to deliver the service, and plans for short, medium and long term business requirements.
·Validate that there is adequate IT Capacity to meet required levels of service and that resource capacity is optimized.
·Communicate with and influence personnel from a wide range of engineering, analytical, and software development specialties.
·Serve as a technical resource on a wide variety of projects to ensure that compute resources, including servers, mainframe, network, and SAN are fully utilized and that requirements for new capacity are planned.

Skills Required:
·At least 10 years work experience in technology field.
·Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
·Ability to work collaboratively with applications and infrastructure groups.
·Scripting experience
·Hyperformix, Splunk, Extrahop, Tealeaf, SCOM
·Five or more years' experience in:

§  Working knowledge of database structures, database modeling and tools (SQL, Oracle).
§  Business Objects or similar product knowledge.
§  Capacity monitoring and management in a distributed system environment, or performance monitoring and management in a distributed system environment. (E.g. capacity planner, performance analyst, information system modeler).
§  Capacity/performance collection and analysis tools such as SCOM, NETIQ, Hyperformix Capacity Manager
§  Creating and updating Capacity Plans bridging IT Infrastructure optimization with strategic and tactical Business Requirements.
§  Use of mathematical analysis to characterize and resolve problems.
§  VMware, SQL, Oracle, DB2 and IBM middleware knowledge.
§  Mainframe, Windows, UNIX, Linux - Strong knowledge of Web Based Infrastructures, J2EE and/or .NET.
§  Information infrastructure capacity assessment. This includes the complete analysis of perceived capacity problems carried through to the quantifiable identification of the root-cause in a multi-tiered environment.

·SAN/NAS
·LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols
