Experienced Java/Groovy developer.
Position Summary:
This candidate will work on various internal tools applications development in Java/Grails/JavaScript languages. The candidate will participate in all stages of software development including gathering requirements, software design, coding, testing, release, maintenance, and support. The candidate will also work collaboratively with other internal teams to ensure cross-functional goals are met.
Responsibilities:
- Assume the team member roles of the best Agile practices
- Internal customer requirements definition and analysis
- Develop tools/solutions to meet the requirements
- Maintain & upgrade existing tools/customization
- Unit testing of developed code/reports & perform code review
- Investigation and root cause analysis of defects or urgent support requests for existing tools
- Deploy the development artifacts to a staging area for release to production
- Interact with customers/users to support software acceptance process
Requirements
- Undergraduate/graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems Engineering
- 5+ years professional development experience with Java/Groovy for web applications
- 5+ years professional development experience with Spring/Hibernate
- 5+ years professional development experience with SQL/SOAP/RESTful Service
- 3+ years of development experience with following technologies: JavaScript, jQuery,
BackboneJS, CoffeeScript, Tomcat, Perl/Python/Shell, AJAX,
- 3+ years of development experience with Relation Database SQL & PL/SQL with PostgreSQL, MySQL
- 2+ years of development experience for Atlassian JIRA plugins
- 2+ years of working experience with Linux server & Windows server
- Working experience with Maven, Mercurial, Git
- Working Experience with Amazon Web Service/Cloud computing is plus
- Working Experience with Web security/authentication/SSL is plus
- Ability to multitask is a must, as efforts will be focused on numerous initiatives and tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
