Job Description
Job Purpose
Design, build, and maintain the operational readiness of the middleware infrastructure in a 24 x 7 environment. The Senior ME is a specialist in their skill area and is a subject matter expert for the team.
Major Job Functions/Components
• Provide level 3 and 4 support (occasionally outside of business hours) for projects and implemented applications.
• Create and configure Web sphere middleware products and connections to other stack products.
• Troubleshoot middleware issues.
• Deploy middleware solutions to Development, QA, staging and production environments.
• Develop shell scripts, JACL, Jython and ANT scripts to automate middleware administration
• Application and server performance analysis
• Assist in project design and ensure the project meets operational requirements.
• Plan, coordinate and respond to application outages and change management processes.
• Maintain version, patch and security levels in accordance with the strategic direction of the customer.
• Communicate technical and non-technical information to support groups, end-users, senior management and vendors.
• Develop and document procedures, policies, and how-to guides to increase efficiency and meet the needs of the business.
• Increase efficiency by designing and implementing best practices and process automation

Qualifications
Hiring Requirements/Qualifications
Education/Experience Bachelor's degree
5 years in a Web Sphere-Middleware Engineer role,
or 7 years Web Sphere-Middleware Engineer role
Technical Education/Experience Preferences Experience administering, and engineering any combination of the following:
-Web Sphere Application Server
-Web Sphere MQ
-Web Sphere MQ Broker
-Data Power
-Wily
Soft Skills/Abilities Scripting or programming experience
Data collection, analysis, and reporting
Interpersonal skills
Communication Skills
Proven decision making skills
Problem solving skills
Process flows
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodologies
Professional Certification
Update (10/16): Need at least 2 yrs. experience in Web Sphere Message Broker.
