Duration: 6 Months
Summary of Responsibilities
Responsible for providing technical leadership for the design and development of enterprise-wide data warehouse, analytics and reporting solutions, and sharing responsibility for overall technical strategy, with a focus on Business Intelligence (BI).
technical solutions to accomplishResearches and implements appropriate strategic direction set forth by the Enterprise Architecture team and IT Leadership.
solutions with businessShares responsibility for aligning technical requirements, enterprise design standards, and industry best practices.
logical designsProvides input to architectural analysis, and translates authored by the Architecture team into physical designs.
Business Data Analysts, and QualityPartners with Program/Project managers, Assurance to deliver successful projects.
tasks and risks areProvides project estimates and ensures technical incorporated into project plans.
Business Intelligence and ETLResponsible for technical leadership over project design and development, making sure technical deliverables are on track.
Business Objects reports to go againstCreates reporting Universes and writes those universes.
appropriate technical systemResponsible for validity and integrity of documentation.
verification and testing methods andProvides expertise and guidance for data guides efforts to troubleshoot and performance tune the delivery of business intelligence reports.
enforcement of proceduralContributes to establishment, publication and guidelines and standards used by Business Intelligence Development staff, and provides mentoring to that staff.
Preferred Experience and Skills
The candidate must have Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence technical team leadership experience, be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, problem solve, manage changing priorities and motivate team members. This role requires strong technical skills specific to business intelligence, data integration, SQL performance tuning expertise, and production support.
Warehouse(EDW) and Business5+ years of experience with Enterprise Data Intelligence(BI) solutions, including design, development, and leadership responsibilities.
concepts and best practices.Strong understanding of data warehouse and ETL
relational and dimensional dataSignificant experience with normalized, modeling and techniques.
Procedures, Views and Queries).Expert at tuning SQL objects (e.g. Stored
BI solutions using enterpriseExpert level proficiency in developing EDW and grade business intelligence and data integration tools such as the following:
o Business Intelligence: Business Objects XI 3.x/4.x (Designer, Reporter, WebI, etc.), Cognos, Microsoft Analysis Services, or equivalent
o Data Integration: Informatica PowerCenter, DataStage, SSIS, or equivalent
o Database: SQL Server 2008, 2012, Oracle, Teradata, DB2, Netezza, or equivalent
experience a plusData mining, predictive analytics and SOA
Insurance industry a plusDomain knowledge and experience in the
Preferred Education and Training
related fieldBachelor's degree in Computer Science or
Completion of Introduction to Insurance course
