Job Title : Unix Engineer
Location : BOSTON, MA/NYC, NY
Duration : Long term



10+ years hands on experience as a Unix Engineer – ideally Lead experience.

Ø  Experience with EMC Storage Arrays and Software – Symm, DMX, Clariion, VMAX, EMC Control Center, Powerpath, SRDF, Timefinder, Optimizer, Enginuity

Ø  Multi year experience with Solaris on Sun servers, all classes

Ø  Multi year experience with Linux on HP – DLxx serves - Blades

Ø  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ø  Ability to lead junior members of the team with very little input from upper management. 

Ø  The candidate should have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking as it pertains to host configurations.

Ø  The candidate should have strong experience in clustering technologies including Veritas, SUN Cluster Server and Oracle Rac.

 

Description

Ø  Provide technical leadership and decisions for projects. 

Ø  Manage, plan, and coordinate efforts and resources on portfolio and functional projects. 

Ø  Review and provide requirements for Concept Design Docs 

Ø  Work closely with project managers to create and update project plans 

Ø  Prioritize and staff multiple projects 

Ø  Responsible for the adherence and enforcement of the project life cycle including;

Ø  Provide strong organizational skills 

Ø  Foster teamwork among staff, peers and cross-functional teams. 

Ø  Work closely with the Architecture team to provide input to new technology strategies. 

Ø  Work closely with Peers to improve workflow processes & communication 

Ø  Responsible for Infrastructure Support (3rd Level) for: 

Ø  Servers – Solaris on Sun, Linux on HP Blades 

Ø  Database Servers – Oracle Parallel Server (8i, 10g, 11), Sybase 12.5, 15

Ø  Storage – EMC DMX, VMAX & Clariion

Ø  SAN –Cisco MDS

Ø  3rd Party Software – RSA, BEA, Sun, SunGuard, EMC
