Role: Cloud Engineer (Dev ops Engineer)
Location: San Jose, CA
Type: Contract
Job Responsibilities:
- Strong background and experience in DevOps and supporting a product on SaaS Platform in Cloud.
- Work with internal engineering development team on driving availability, latency, and scalability of service
- Assists with the implementation and development of monitoring and deployment tools for application.
- Perform proactive daily system monitoring including system and application logs as well as responding to, triaging, troubleshooting and remediating incidents
- Participate in a 24X7 rotation for production issue.
- Demonstrate technical leadership in driving operational readiness of product on SaaS environment on the Cisco Cloud.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in Service Operation / DevOps and Cloud technologies in a SaaS production environment ( Openstack / AWS)
- Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems, system statistics and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of systems and application design.
- Experience in scripting/coding in Python, Shell and Java (added advantage)
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of applications such as HAproxy, Tomcat, Consul, Redis, Postgres and Cassandra
- Strong working knowledge of networking, Wireless networking, packet tracing, understanding latency and throughput.
- Strong working knowledge of Continues Integration and versioning tools like Jenkins and Git Repositories.
