Job Description –
1. Perform database refreshes from Production for ongoing development/testing efforts. This would include refreshes performed from other downstream systems identified for this purpose (Golden copy)
2. Take on-demand logical backups at table, schema and database level
3. Help with archiving and flashback of database. This would include support towards archiver issues, archivelog purge and overall database availability
4. Housekeeping activities for essential filesystems and ASM diskgroups owned by DBA's (mandatorily required for database uptime)
5. Perform Characterset migration associated with data conversion prior to upgradation
6. Work on Database upgradation for all testing and development environments. This would also include mock-upgrades prior to the actual upgrade.
7. Survey the database landscape and prepare environment matrix for databases, database level parameters, database links, users, roles and memory/space utilization parameters
8. Work on scripting activities such as archivelog purge, recovery file destination utilization, housekeeping and other automation opportunities
9. Create/maintain required documentation
10. Help with setup of database links, database objects for batch/application schema users for continuity of project
11. Take on-demand (ad-hoc) backups and perform restores as and when required
12. Knowledge of Goldengate replication
