Job Description:

Role: Software Developer / Programmer

Required Experience: 6 to 8 years

Job Location: Pittsburgh,PA

Job Type: Contract-12 Months

We are looking for those who are responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems and responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.

Required Technical Skills:

• Experience in analysing requirements and developing data structures to meet those requirements.

• Experience using both Windows and Unix/Linux server technologies.

• Experience with SQL/PLSQL and Oracle databases.

• Experience in object-oriented programming OOPs (Java, C#, Python, etc)

• Experience in business analytics.

• Experience using an ETL technology and in-depth knowledge of the ETL process a plus.

• Experience with Teradata, Data Warehouses and their technologies a plus.

• Experience supporting and configuration of AxiomSL application a plus.

• Must have Regulatory Finance and Risk Reporting experience. (FIIC031)

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.

• Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.

• Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system.

• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.

• 3-5 years of experience in the development and deployment of n-tier enterprise applications.

• Formal experience in working in projects with a methodology.

• Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Exceptional customer service skills required. Looking for a highly motivated individual that likes to be challenged.

• Candidate must actively and independently strive to broaden technology and business knowledge.

• Must possess knowledge and experience supporting and delivering Regulatory Reporting solutions for major financial institutions (FR Y-9C, FFIEC 031 Call Report, FR Y-14M, etc…)

Job Skills and Competencies:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.

• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

• Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.

• Designs and codes application programs; performs testing for developed applications.

• Reviews, analyses, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.

• Ensures the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.

• Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.

Education:

High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
