Java Developer

Birmingham, AL

6 months

 

SOA (TIBCO Preferred), Spring, SVN, Jenkins,  Web services (Produce and Consume)

 

Responsibilities –

 

* Analyzes and defines functional, non-functional and business requirements for software development. Mentors other development staff in the art of software requirements.

* Designs and develops highly complex software applications, model database architecture and relational databases.

* Utilizes understanding of software applications and infrastructure architecture through cross-departmental implementations.

* Proven programming and technical skills in various languages and products currently used by the Company as specified for the position and common for the industry.

* Researches and recommends new software products as well as orchestrates technical innovations for the insurance industry.

* Utilizes and mentors Java, J2EE, JavaScript, Spring, C#, C/C++, Hibernate, Tibco (AMX, BW, BE), Web services, Subversion, Jenkins, Oracle11g, SQL, iPlanet and/or JBOSS webserver and markup languages such as HTML, CSS, XML, JSON as specified for the position as well as languages and products that are common for the industry.

* Writes unit tests and performs integration testing to ensure high quality applications that meet business requirements. Mentors development staff in the art of test driven development.

* Builds deployment methods using tools and procedures for reliable construction and transition.

* Utilizes an understanding of systems, database and networking with cross-over skills to assist the design and implementation of these in custom solutions.
