Job Title: Splunk Consultant
Duration: 12 months
Location: Remote (client is in St Louis, MO)
$market all inclusive
Overview:
Standardize Splunk forwarder deployment, configuration and maintenance across a variety of UNIX and Windows platforms
Resource Tasks:
· Apply hot fixes/upgrade;
· Running and/or scheduling new Jobs;
· Monitor license usage Investigate new usage pattern Configure new data inputs/sources Generate reports on usage Health g) Check for indexers and forwarders Review/Update/Perform Backup procedures/testing.
· Troubleshoot Splunk server and forwarder problems and issues
· Monitoring System Resources.
· Design core scripts to automate Splunk maintenance and alerting tasks
· Experience in Python, Unix Shell scripting and use of regular expression is a plus
Required Skills:
• upgrade Splunk
• Ability to load data into Splunk
• Manage indexes and indexers
• Scale Splunk
• Secure Splunk
• Troubleshoot Splunk
• Responsible for System administration, application administration, centralized logging and data mining
