TITLE : JAVA DEVELOPER
LOCATION : ATLANTA, GA
DURATION : 6+ MONTHS
The role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing programs, as required, to support the technical capabilities of our client. To be successful in this role, one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires good communication skills, both with team members and business contacts. In addition, the successful Sr. Software Engineer must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Develop new or maintain existing programs based on specifications
- Develop, implement, and maintain unit tests of programs
- Participate in the design of new or changing programs
- Participate in functional test planning and testing for the assigned application(s), functional area(s), or project(s)
- Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned application(s), functional area(s), or project(s)
- Share knowledge by effectively documenting work
- Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned application(s), functional area(s), or project(s)
- Work with the team to ensure the quality of the assigned application(s), functional area(s), or project(s)
- Respond quickly/effectively to production issues by taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
- Proactively serve as a troubleshooting resource and subject matter expert across the team
- Participate in code reviews
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Java web application development
- J2EE
- Java Server Faces (JSF 2+)
- Contexts and Dependency Injection (Weld)
- EJB
- Persistence (Hibernate)
- Web Services
- Unit Testing (TestNG & Mockito)
- Application performance tuning
- SQL (experience with stored procedures or PL/SQL)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in Agile software development environment
Good working knowledge or experience in the following areas/tools:
- JBoss Application Server v6+
- Apache web server
- Linux
- Shell scripting
- Maven
- Subversion
- Sonar
- Crucible
- HTML
- JavaScript
- CSS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
