Skills Needed:
Should have the ability to extract, manipulate and categorize complex healthcare data (Eligibility, Provider and Claims) and produce accurate output.
Should have the capability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Strong analytical skills including data mapping & analysis, modeling and data mining
Proven ability to retrieve information from a variety of sources using a variety of approaches and tools.
Demonstrated proficiency working with databases - Oracle (11) , DB2
Extensive SAS programming knowledge, SQL, Pl/Sql and other SAS tools (Base SAS 9.2, SAS BI Suite, Enterprise guide and Enterprise Miner).
Strong understanding of healthcare claims processing - Claims, Provider, Eligibility.
Understanding of data modeling techniques and experience working with relational data base concepts and data
Hands-on experience in different file transfer methodologies and different file types and layouts
Ability to provide documentation and reports used to evaluate impacts on policies and operations
Working knowledge of Medicaid and/or MMIS
Four (4) references will be required prior to consideration of hire
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and business audiences.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science and ten years of programming experience or equivalent work experience with 7 years of experience in health insurance data reporting groups, 7 years of SAS experience utilizing SAS or SQL/ Base SAS, macro, Proc SQL, Databases (Oracle 11g, DB2), Pl/Sql and general knowledge of SAS statistical functions.
Preferred:
SAS Certification, Mainframe Skills desired but not required
