Role : Microsoft BI Analyst

Duration : 3 -6 months

Location : Omaha, NE

Major Job Function:

Understand and use data to design, develop and deliver technical solutions to provide a means for solving business problems and making business decisions.  

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with customers to define analytical and technical requirements.  Assist customers with analyzing data to meet their needs for information.
• Explore large volumes of structured and unstructured data.  Think creatively to identify patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends.  Solve problems and provide insight to decision makers by developing solutions that present data in meaningful visualization.
• Explore and self-learn new technical trends.  Always be open to use new technologies and tools without formal training.  
• Develop multidimensional structures such as MOLAP, ROLAP and HOLAP. 
• Develop T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, user defined functions, views, RDLs, C# scripts, XML, ASP.Net, and triggers.
• Performance tune run time code.
• Setting up connectivity to data sources.

·          Work with the Center of Excellence/Communities of Practice to set best practices, share technical information and support applications.

• Understanding and follow best practices for the environment as set up by the Administrators.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:          

• Ability to communicate with customers and other IS staff at a business and technical level both verbally and written is required.
• Strong analytical skills are required.
• Experience developing in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008, Analysis Services 2008 and Integration Services 2008 is required.
• Strong SQL coding skills are required
• Experience in C#, ASP.Net, MVC3, HTML, XML a plus.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts such as Dimensional Modeling, Fact Tables and Third Normal/Star/Snowflake schemas are required.
• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and best practices.
• Understanding of business statistics and analytics is a plus.
• Experience in using Team Foundations Server, Tidal Scheduler, Informatica, SharePoint or SAS a plus.
• Understanding of the Medical Insurance business a plus

 

Education, Training and Experience Required:

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics and Statistics or equivalent.

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL.

·         Some experience in C#, ASP .Net with MVC a plus.

·         Experience with Data Warehouse concepts.

·         Microsoft Developer Certificate a plus.
