This person must be a self-starter. This role will have very little direction from the manager. They must be an expert with Cisco and Jupiter. They must have built VPN's. GC or US citizen is preferred. They are looking for someone to start ASAP.
Network Security Engineer
Location: Midtown, NY
Duration: 6+ months
Start: ASAP.
The Network Security Engineer designs and implements security practices in various Operating System configurations.
Responsibilities:
· Design, implement and maintain network security guidelines, and a security infrastructure for corporate and customer infrastructures.
· Develop and ensure successful implementation of security policies, standards and plans to ensure the protection of corporate and customer data against unauthorized use, access, modification and destruction.
· Develop, implement and maintain an alerting, archival and event log management system.
· Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures. Monitor network, devices and servers for security violations.
· Implement entire customer systems including Operating Systems, Network, and various 3rd party security software.
· Implement security services for corporate and customer networks.
· Conduct data security forensic analysis and risk assessment for the entire infrastructure.
Preferred Skills:
· Operating System Hardening (AIX, Windows, Linux)
· Cisco and Juniper
· Experience working with various network vendors' products (Juniper, Dell, HP, etc.)
Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.
· Three to five years' experience in the IT/Network field.
· Ability to work with end users as well as executive level representatives.
· Experience working in Cisco and Juniper
· Experience developing, maintaining and analyzing trails and logs that demonstrate effective security of systems and networks.
· Detailed understanding of LANs/WANs, internet technology, and network protocols.
· Strong knowledge of networking and systems integration, and application and operating system hardening.
· Effective communication and technical writing skills.
· Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
