THIS IS PRODUCTION SUPPORT ROLE , but needs someone with a light SAS programming background to appropriately troubleshoot tickets and manage job via Autosys.
GRMAS production support requires dedicated personal to monitor and correct production issues in a timely manner. GRMAS processing runs 24 x 7 x 365 (excluding downtime scheduled for system maintenance) requiring 3 shifts and weekend on call support. Provide first level end user assistance regarding any facet of the GRMAS infrastructure, escalating problems or queries as required. This role requires a team player who can share their experiences and knowledge. Good communication skills is a must to administer the daily turnover of production status, open and close problem tickets and make scheduling adjustments as required. Requires a broad knowledge base of UNIX commands to manage files and directories, disk space, file permissions, create and debug UNIX shell scripts, report on SLA and provide file availability metrics. The individual must have experience with automated scheduling tools, such as Autosys scheduler to manage job schedules. Experience with Netbackup tool for managing the backups and restoring of files is desirable. Experience with SAS software is required. SAS Administration experience is desirable. Requires learning to use in-house utilities to analyze data files, create scripts to repair files and provide history data fixes. Participate in pre and post production implementation activities, addressing application outages and involved in the planning and execution of disaster recovery procedures. Administration of SAS and Connect Direct (NDM) software and software licensing update coordination with the systems administrator is desirable.
Necessary Skills listed in order of importance:
- Mandatory - Experience with Unix scripting (Korn Shell preferred) -at least 3 years
- Mandatory - Experience with file transfer (NDM aka Connect Direct , SFTP, etc) -1 year of administration
- Mandatory - Working experience with scheduling products - 2 years of Autosys or other similar products preferred
- Experience with batch support and problem resolution -at least 2 years preferred
- Should have xperience with SAS programming on UNIX OS. If they dont have SAS programming experience will look at someone with C programming experience on Unix
- Ability to adapt to changes
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to deliver on aggressive deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience managing and processing large batch files
- Mainframe working experience
- Experience with Netbackup
- Knowledge of SAS Admin and SAS EG, Admin of Knowledge Studio, Admin of NDM – aka Connect Direct
