Description
The IT Asset & Configuration Data Specialist works with the IT Hardware & Software Asset Management, Hardware Maintenance and Configuration Management teams on setting up data reconciliation, data migration and data management for our IBM SmartCloud Control Desk (SCCD). This person will know the IBM SCCD tool from a technical side and will have experience working on setting up data reconciliation, data migration and data management function and processes within the tool. This person will act as a consultant on the Asset and Configuration Management portion of the tool with their expertise and also help complete tasks to get reconciliation and data management setup properly from a process and tool aspect. This person will also work with our technical support team (BSM team) on any technical modifications or configurations in the actual tool.
Responsibilities
• Provide technical oversight and expertise for the configuration of the SCCD IT Asset & Configuration Management applications
• Provide guidance on process development
• Test results of data migration from external sources to SCCD
• Work with BSM team to resolve data migration issues
• Work with BSM team to develop link rules between Assets and CI's
• Assist with the development of reconciliation activities
• Verify business functionality has been implemented per requirements
• Identify start-up activities for Go-Live
• Provide consulting oversight for the development of Job Aids/Work Instructions
• Help create procedures and Job Aids.
• Coordinate implementation activities with the ITSM project team
• Provide advice on interface implementation and deployment alternatives
• Recommend SCCD IT Asset & Configuration Management best practices
• Participate in periodic status checks with project team to assess progress against plan
• Effectively communicate complex technical information in both verbal and written format to the teams
Skills
• Strong technical knowledge of IBM SCCD 7.5 or Maximo for IT version 7.x that focuses around the IT Asset & Configuration Management/CCMDB applications
• Understanding of SCCD/Maximo for Service Providers functionality
• Strong functional understanding of core SCCD/Maximo processes
• Knowledge of Tivoli Endpoint Manager (TEM) Software Use Analysis preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good analytical and planning skills
Language
• Fluent English
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years in Information Technology
• Minimum 4 years' experience working with data reconciliation for IT Asset and Configuration Management
• Minimum 3 years hands on experience utilizing the IT Asset and Configuration Management applications and processes
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience implementing SCCD/TAMIT/Maximo IT Asset & Configuration (CCMDB) Management systems
• Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience in Retail
• Prefer an IBM SCCD/TAMIT/Maximo certification
