JOB DESCRIPTION:
Mandatory Skills:
At least 5+ years of Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) testing with application design experience:
Ability to decompose a system/application requirements to design elements (Proficiency level: 4)
Ability to review system design and architecture and to trace NFRs to designs (Proficiency level: 3)
Ability to conduct root cause analysis and anticipate potential problem spaces (Proficiency level: 3)
Ability to design and execute non-functional test cases and to identify creative test options (Proficiency level 5)
Ability to identify SPOF in environment components such as network, storage devices, network, etc. (Proficiency level: 4)
Ability to mentor / lead others to automate test cases and associated software testing tools (Proficiency level: 3)
Other capabilities & knowledge: (Proficiency: 4)
a. Tools / Database / etc.: HP Quality Center, System Monitoring software (e.g. JMETER, CACTI, Glance, etc.)
b. Languages: C, Java, etc.
c. Architecture / design: Knowledge of databases, networks, 3-tier architectures
d. Best practices for NFR testing
Issue and Risk management capabilities: (Proficiency: 3)
a. Develop testing risks
b. Address all technical issues, facilitate the resolution and necessary follow up
c. Alert projects of defects and level of risk associated with each, keep thorough records of defects and update defects as status changes and report to management
Soft skills:
a. Team building and team leadership: lead a group of people to execute tasks (Proficiency:2)
b. Good written and oral communication (Proficiency: 3)
i. Communicate with Project Managers, Systems Architects, Systems Analyst, DBA's and Application Developers to gather requirements for testing and develop estimates for testing execution
ii. Write clear and concise test reports and review them with projects
Desirable Skills:
Good Communication; Knowledge of databases, networks, 3-tier architectures, HP Quality Center, System Monitoring software.
