MicroStrategy /ETL Developer

Function: This position is responsible for deploying tools to support self-service data retrieval by business unit analysts as well as developing advanced reporting, analysis, and process automation using the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence platform.
The position also requires the ability to collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure that the solutions perform as needed, are scalable, and adhere to the prescribed design and development methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze, design, code, and test highly efficient, robust, and scalable BI solutions in MicroStrategy
• Work with business stakeholders to develop business requirements for reports, dashboards, etc.
• Participate in and contribute to technical requirements, operational support documentation, and collaborative design discussions with the Data Analyst and other technical staff to convert business requirements into BI solution
• Complete ad hoc report requests from business stakeholders leveraging necessary BI tools.
• Develop architecture of reporting mart and collaborate with ETL team to ensure that mart is built to specifications and loaded in accordance with business rules.
• Perform testing of BI solutions to ensure the delivery meets all business requirements.
• Create, maintain, and manage documentation for data mart and report development efforts.
• Responsible for adhering to business intelligence standards and best practices, supporting Data Management and other lines of business
Requirements for Position:
• 6 or more years of experience in system analysis, design, development, and testing of Business Intelligence solutions.
• 6 or more years of experience with the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform required.
• At least 5 years of experience with Data Warehousing, Data Marts, and Data Modeling techniques.
• Solid analytical and logical programming skills with a good understanding of RDBMS
preferred: Oracle; SQL Server; DB2; Teradata
• Good understanding of data modeling concepts, including Star and Snowflake schemas and ROLAP.
• Strong communications skills, with ability to communicate effectively and clearly with non-technical personnel.
• Flexibility – able to adapt to shifting priorities and changes in scope of assigned tasks
• BS/BA or Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge/Skils (Excellent organization skills, etc.) and IT Skills (ex. Programming skills with Java, Cobol, etc.)
Other Comments:
Resource must be able to work with little guidance from the BI (Exploitation) team.
Rapport and communication with the SBA/ITE/AST project team is critical.
