Position: SQL Database Administrator

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: $50/hour C2C

Scanned copy of work authorization is a must

 

 

The primary responsibility of this job is architecting, administering, monitoring and fixing database. We are looking for someone who enjoys database administration and troubleshooting work in a real production environment. You will also participate in database architecture decisions and be a key player in the development agile process.

 

Responsibilities:

Strong experience in Database Administration in SQL Server (2008 and higher)

Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc

Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention

Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication

 

Qualifications:

Experience with Windows and MS SQL Server family (2005 and 2008; 2012 a plus)

Experience with Database Management, User Account, Database Security and Information Security

Experience in Creating and Optimizing Database Queries, Indexes, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Reports
