Position: Sr. Solution Architect
Location: Eagan, MN

Job Summary:
The solution architect defines pragmatic technical solutions that fulfill specific business objectives and service level agreements (SLAs), while balancing important concerns such as adherence to established practices, alignment with enterprise strategy and accountability to the bottom line.
Solution architects are especially active in early phases of projects, producing solution options and approach documents that clarifies the problem space, proposes a recommended solution, explains the rationale, enumerates significant components (people, process and technology) and addresses relevant constraints, risks, competing concerns, alternatives and the consequences of proposed choices. In some cases ongoing project involvement includes consulting during the design and development phases of the project.
Responsibilities:
· Effectively collaborate with stakeholders (business sponsors, IT leadership, subject matter experts, domain architects, enterprise architecture, project management, etc.) in producing sound architectural solutions on projects of high complexity
· Lead the creation of conceptual and logical specifications for all layers of a technology solution through collaboration with application, security and infrastructure architects.
· Establish and maintain clear channels of communication about a solution, including presenting to small and large groups of mixed stakeholders (business and technical) as required
· Maintain alignment with enterprise strategy, reference architecture and other guidelines produced by the Architecture Office (AO)
· Actively collaborate with the AO to provide consultation and mentoring on technology topics such as architecture, methodology and design
· Recommend, document and support the delivery of pragmatic technical solutions that fulfill specific business objectives while addressing major architectural concerns, such as performance, scalability, quality, availability, security, privacy, enterprise integration, etc.
· Ensure consistent application of architectural standards and principals across all projects and among architect peers
· Adhere to Prime's Enterprise Project Life Cycle (EPLC) requirements; including presenting proposed solutions to the Architecture Review Board (ARB).
· Support project management in estimating schedule and resource requirements for delivering architecture solutions
· Conduct design reviews throughout the project life cycle to assure solution integrity
· Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of Prime's solution architecture practice
· Mentor new or junior solution architects
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent knowledge of relevant technology fundamentals)
Preferred Qualifications:
· Five years experience leading the design of entire solutions, including such tasks as addressing cross-domain concerns, identifying system integration points and solving complex interdependencies across solution layers
· Demonstrated experience handling a variety of solution types, such as new system builds, legacy enhancements, build vs. buy analysis, deploying COTS software packages, etc.
· Experience in the PBM and/or Health care domain
· Excellent analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to comprehend ambiguous, complex problems and respond with achievable, appropriate solutions
· Proven success designing solutions that meet stakeholders requirements and are delivered on time
· Expert collaborator with business and technical colleagues, adept at building rapport
· Strength in clearly articulating complex technical solutions to mixed audiences, including presenting to small and large groups
· Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related field
· Solid awareness the objectives and concerns in each of the Software Development Life Cycle phases
