Java Technical Lead to join our team in the King of Prussia, PA area.

6+ Months

Read and understand business requirements, functional requirements, develop detailed technical designs and producing high quality level code. Participate in the design of technical solutions to solve complex business problems. Ability to drill deep into subject matter with the expectation to evolve as subject matter expert on current systems. Performs research and analysis - recommending solutions and driving decisions and. This candidate should be a strong utility type of programmer with the ability to switch context quickly and efficiently between different languages and tasks.  The candidate should be able to interact effectively with project managers, developers, technical operations, etc.  

 

This position is 80% hands on coding and 20% technical leadership  

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Exceptional system / technical analysis skills.
• Minimum of five years OO analysis and design experience.
• 5-7 years technical leadership experience w/distributed systems, preferably 3 years w/ EJB.
• Minimum three years working in both Unix/Linux and Wintel environments.
• Current experience working with app servers–preferably WebLogic.
• Minimum three years working in both Unix/Linux and Wintel environments.
• Strong problem solving skills, ability to infer from previous examples, willingness to understand how an application is put together.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven development experience in large-scale, enterprise-style financial services applications.

 

Required Skills    

• Full development lifecycle experience as a technical lead. Must demonstrate experience delivering systems / projects from inception through implementation.
• 5-7 years technical leadership experience using technolgies such as JPA, EJB, Spring Beans, Enterprise Design patterns, WebLogic Application Server, Oracle, SQL Server, Internationalization.
• J2EE / EJB - preferably WebLogic.
• Exposure to Spring Core.
• High level of proficiency in Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment of EJBs (strong server side experience).
• Able to perform code reviews of each team member and educate them on best practices. 
• Experience with continuous integration build tools i.e. Jenkins.

 

Desired Skills

• 3+ years Oracle database programming experience.
• Experience in Linux/UNIX/Solaris/AIX; Shell programming/PERL a plus.
