Title: Senior Software Developer – SQL / .NET

Location :Stamford, CT

Duration :Long Term

 

The Senior Developer is primarily responsible for database design and development on Microsoft SQL Server back end and web based front end applications. The successful candidate must be creative, self-sufficient and resourceful. They must have the ability to quickly learn both the technology and business concepts, and must have experience working on cross functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Interact with the Business to understand needs and design / build effective solutions
• Design and develop SQL Server solutions / back ends for in-house software applications using T-SQL
• Design and develop n-tier web based solutions based on business requirements
• Work with the Data Architect, Business Solutions Architect and Technical Solutions Architect on implementing functional requirements of our various applications
• Interact with Quality Assurance personnel during system testing phases of application development. Develop multi-tier web applications.
• Mentor and perform code reviews for more junior developers

 

Required Skills:

• Database Skills:
• Proficiently in SQL Server technologies
• Strong relational database design and development skills
• Advanced Transact SQL coding/debugging/optimization skills
• 5+ years of RDBMS experience (SQL Server strongly preferred)
• 3+ years' experience in Transact SQL (TSQL) development
• Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Experience with Advanced SQL Server technologies, such as Message Broker, Replication and XML
• Application security design and implementation in SQL Server
• Experience with SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012
• Additional database experience a plus:
• DBA skills
• Experience performing SQL code reviews and/or mentoring SQL developers
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Service Broker
• Development technologies:
• Experience with building n-tier web applications in a Microsoft environment
• Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript (Durandal, JQuery, Knockout, RequireJS), CSS, C#, ASP.NET, JSON
• PowerShell experience, familiarity with Bootstrap, Kendo UI a plus
• Experience with the MVVM design pattern
• Other Skills / Experience:
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Leadership / Mentoring experience
• Demonstrated collaboration skills
