Title: Senior SQL Server DBA
Location: Westport, CT, US
Duration: 1 year contract
Start Date: ASAP
Qualifications:
We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA with a minimum of 5 years of production support experience to support ongoing client engagements in the Southwest, CT area. The role will require supporting a large SQL Server database environment for a financial services client. Some of the project responsibilities include:
Monitor and manage large SQL Server environment including versions 2003, 2008 2012, and 2014
Respond to and troubleshoot user issues with the environment
Support application developers with troubleshooting and database performance tuning
Monitor and perform database backups and recoveries
Monitor and support database disaster recovery
Possible after hour and weekend on call to resolve issues remotely.
Required skills
Good documentation skills
Experience providing operational support and providing on-call support for a production environment
Experience with PowerShell
Experience with SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition
Experience with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition
Experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012
Experience with SQL2014 is a plus
Experience with Always On and T-SQL is required
Must be able to work extended hours if required during an issue or deployment.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SQL Server issues.
Configure and Monitor SQL Server backups.
Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server networking.
Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server storage.
Excellent Communication skills.
