Oracle Database Administrator

LOCATION: Papillion, NE
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Oracle DBA will be responsible for all aspects of database administration. This includes the design, installation, configuration, security and performance of all corporate databases. This position will also be responsible for troubleshooting, capacity planning, patch management and the backup and recovery of all corporate databases.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager, Technical Consulting
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for setting strategy, direction, coordination and planning for the company's database environment
Expert in Oracle database administration, database modeling, tuning and database development
Expert in use of PL/SQL including creation of stored procedures, views, triggers, functions and tables
Work closely with co-workers, application developers and end-users to resolve database and performance related issues
Ensure recoverability of all corporate databases
Ensure security and integrity of all corporate databases
Tune all database instance components including SQL and PL/SQL
Install, patch and maintain all databases and ensure they stay current with patches.
Ensure compliance with all corporate policies including but not limited to SOX and NERC/CIP
Monitor and optimize database performance
Implement and support 3rd party multi-tiered applications and associated databases
Process work related requests in an accurate and timely manner
Work as part of a DBA team and provide 24x7 support when required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support for Oracle ASM
Provide support for Oracle Grid Control (Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c)
Provide support for Oracle Spatial
Provide support for SAG Products (Natural, Adabase, and EntireX)
Provide support for Microsoft SQL and MySQL
Provide support for T-SQL
Provide monthly status reports
Assist with supervision and cross-training of your peers and co-workers
Ability to effectively document database procedures for audit and control purposes
Willingly accept all other duties as assigned
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to interface with IT management and various business customers
Ability to effectively communicate corporate goals and strategy and how the use of technology impacts these goals and strategy
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years enterprise database administration experience required
3rd party multi-tiered application support and/or development experience preferred
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
KNOWLEDGE:
Understand the principles, theories and practices of effective project management
Strong knowledge of multi-tiered applications
Knowledge of Operating System administration, VMWare, Networking and Shared Storage preferred
Knowledge of the Utility Industry is preferred
Exadata or oracle rack is a plus
