AIX System Administrator

3 Months

St. Louis,MO

Essential Functions:

System Administrator for AIX server environment.

This position will be responsible for Operating System configurations,

installations, day to day activities, set up and maintenance of LPAR and VIO servers.

Review and recommend any changes as necessary and work closely with application teams to ensure standards are maintained.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

Job requirements:

1. pSeries experience with AIX OS 6.1 and 7.1 required.

2. Experience with IBM Clustering, Power HA, installations and configurations required.

3. Experience with daily systems administration required.

4. Recent work with VIO and LPAR configuration required.

5. Previous working experience supporting SAP applications is preferred.

6. Some experience with Commvault is preferred.

7. Some experience working with SAN design and configurations is preferred.

8. Individual must be self motivated and diligent in their documentation of the environment.

9. Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication is required.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. On call support rotation with other team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Unix operating system and hardware installation, configuration upgrades and related testing.

Systems performance analysis and testing.

Systems and infrastructure environment support, on and off hours.

Scripting using various shell scripts; bash, ksh, perl, etc.

Heavy customer interaction in a support role with both application development staff and end users.
