Title: Oracle Database Architect

Location: Reston VA

The Database Architect ensures that our web and mobile applications present information that is complete, accurate, reliable, and consistent. S(he) is responsible for creating information models, creating data dictionaries, supporting canonical models, designing databases; creating and turning DML and DDL scripts, triggers, indexes, functions and other database entities; replicating/synchronizing databases in disconnected/reconnected environments. The Database Architect will also be responsible for developing the logical data models, implementing the physical data models, and capturing metadata.

Roles & Responsibilities:
● Identify user requirements, design and create databases, support testing and coordinate modifications with systems and application engineers.
● Be able to execute and complete assignments on schedule with minimal supervision.
● Ensure system performance. Perform optimization and tuning of data loads and extractions.
● Create and manage database upgrades, backups, and restores.
● Perform server and storage capacity management.
● Perform backup, recovery, daily maintenance duties, and "break/fix" responses using published procedures and documentation.
● Collaborate with software engineers, security administration, computer operations, and network managers to ensure quality and integrity of databases, applications, software, and data.
● Oversee the daily performance of the database systems.

Requirements:
● Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or other computer-related field
● 5-7 years work experience with database engineering and administration duties.
● 5+ years of RDBMS systems: Oracle 10g & 11g, SQLServer, MySQL.
● 2+ years of experience in healthcare software
● 2-3 years experience in data warehousing and modeling
● 5+ years experience in application design techniques.
● 2+ years experience in administering Oracle Transparent Data Encryption.
● 5+ years experience in Partitioning and Oracle DBA Functions.
● 3+ years experience in installing/administering Oracle 11g, including Oracle Enterprise Server Edition.
● Working knowledge of MongoDB, Hadoop, and MarkLogic is a plus
● Experience with Data Analytics tools and techniques.
