Job Title: Senior Mobile Android Developer
Seattle, WA-Locals needed for F2F
Rate: $63/hr max on C2C
Seeking a senior Android developer with experience in delivering numerous successful products to the Play Store. This position will be part of an agile development team responsible for the creation of our award winning Alaska Airlines mobile applications. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment where you will have the opportunity to delivery Android features from a robust roadmap of innovative ideas. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to other Alaska airlines mobile applications and web service APIs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Contribute as a senior Android developer on a scrum delivery team, collaborating with product owners, developers and testers to deliver business value on an iterative basis.
· Architect, design, and develop complex custom software applications
· Ensure the delivery of high quality software by writing clean code and utilizing pair programming, test driven development, unit testing, UI automation, continuous integration and code reviews
· Serve as a mentor and idea leader to continuously improving the team by sharing new technology/process opportunities and best practices
· Responsibility may also include contributing features to the Alaska Airlines Mobile Website, iPhone application and API service layer
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
· 5+ years prior professional experience in Software Engineering required
· 3+ years Android development experience required
· Track record of shipping numerous successful Android mobile applications to the Google Play Store
· Extensive knowledge of Java, XML, JSON, SQL/SqlLite, APIs and Android SDK required
· Deep understanding of memory management, file I/O, network programming, and multi-threading
· Must be an ambassador of test driven development, unit testing, pair programming and other Agile/Extreme Programming principals
· Confident in leading the team through architecture discussions, introducing new ideas and influencing the technical direction of the team
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Experience in establishing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments
· Experience in using UI automation tools like Espresso to reduce or eliminate manual testing
· Experience in programming in .NET/C# technologies a plus
