Title: Data Modeler / Data Architect

Location: Midtown NY

Data Modeler

 

The successful candidate should have or offer

·         7+ years of extensive data modeling experience,

·         Demonstrated success in a data modeling environment.

·         Proven ability to transform business information into conceptual, logical and physical data models preferably in financial industries. Domain knowledge in Operational Risk &   Control business functionalities is plus.

·         Strong data analysis and data profiling skills, as well as knowledge of principles, techniques, and best practices of enterprise data model.

·         Experience using Data Modeling tools such as Power Designer or CA Erwin. (Power Designer is preferred).

·         Strong collaboration and communication skills.

·         Strong Skills in Relational Database (preferably DB2) including database design & SQL writing.  

·         Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouse Frameworks and ETL design.

·         Experience in Informatica ETLtools,  Informatica DQ tools, Unix and Autoys  is plus but not required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Work with client and business analyst to review their business requirements. Understand business processes, data entities, data producers, consumers, and the data dependencies between various departments.

Transform business requirements into an efficient, scalable and flexible data model.

Develop and maintain data dictionary

Perform data analysis and data profiling to identify data quality issues.

Establish, maintain and enforce data model design principles, techniques, standards and best practices.

Participate in modeling, designing, and developing data warehouse components including databases, ETL mappings and DQ rules required for BI applications.

Write and maintain ETL mapping specifications for development team.

Identify and document DQ rules and metrics for management team and development team.

Interact closely with Business Analysis team, ETL/ELT team and BI Reporting teams to ensure understanding of proper use of data Modeling. Conduct data modeling, and data integration design review sessions.

 

 Technical Skills:

 

·         Power Designer or CA Erwin (is must)

·         Strong SQL writing (is must)

·         DB2 (or any other RDBMS)

·         Unix & Autosys  (Some exposure)

·         Informatica ETL and IDQ (Nice to have)
