DB2 Application DBA for Z/OS (DBA for the project)        

6-9 months        

Cedar Rapids, IA

o Database administration work using DB2 on z/OS- create, maintain and manage DB2 database on z/os

o Expertise in writing Store Procedures, performance tuning SQLs

o Experience in DB2 data movement utilities, monitoring DB2 database

o Ability to troubleshoot problems, perform root cause analysis and resolution of day-to-day issues

• Focus on DBA work in Development, Testing environments

• Work proactively with various stakeholders in the project to identify critical SQLs, review and optimize them

• Partner with Production/Infrastructure DBAs to ensure high performance level of the SQL and various database components in the production environment

Desire:

• Participate in technology evaluations to help the team identify appropriate tools and technologies to solve ongoing business and technical challenges

• Consult with project team members to help select solution patterns and designs that perform and scale well, meet defined availability requirements, and minimize solution cost through the efficient use of computing resources

• Work with development and support staff to develop best practices, technology standards, processes and policies

• Assist in converting existing PL/SQL procedures and Oracle Queries to DB2
