Location:              San Jose, CA 
Duration:             6-12  months

 
Job Description: Baseline and improve search relevancy on daily basis with following tasks:
1. Review search metrics, cms metrics, and web analytics to identify opportunities to measure, and improve relevancy
2. Identify, and maintain variables that contribute to relevancy (synonyms, facets, top url's, zero hits, abandonment, etc)
3. Create and maintain taxonomies for technical support and customer service
4. Partner with end users and Search IT on identification, and maintenance of search relevancy
 
Primary Skills: Relevancy Tuning, Log analysis (Search, Web,  CMS),  Data Classification, Thesauri Creation, Ontology/Taxonomy Management, Semantics, Statistics
 
Experience: Preferred 5+ yrs, open to less. Experience refers to primary skills.
Search Systems: Must have worked with one of the enterprise search solution. Attivio preferred but experience with Solr, FAST, Vivisimo, Endeca or Autonomy is acceptable
Analytics: Splunk, Data Visualization, and Communication
 
Education: Library Science highly preferred. But candidate with Information Science, Statistics, or Human Computer Interaction degree will be considered
