Job Description:
Sr. Network Engineer will work on a team of Senior Network Engineers to monitor, maintain, configure, upgrade, assist with design and implementation of new technologies, and troubleshoot and resolve customer and network issues.
The Network Support Team responsibilities span multiple technologies from Data Center routing & switching, firewall, BIgIP F5 LTM, enterprise routing & switching, WAN MPLS networks, MAN Metro E, Cisco CUCM, Unity, Cisco WLC, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Cisco IOS, and Nexus O/S.
This is a Sr. Network Engineering position requiring a minimum of 7 years hands on working experience performing day-to-day Switching and Routing trouble resolution, configuring, and deploying Cisco routing and switching in a multi-enterprise site and data center environments.
In addition to routing and switching data design and working knowledge, candidate must possess at a minimum experience in two of four disciplines; Cisco ASA Firewall, Palo Alto Firewall, Cisco CUCM, BigIP F5 LTM, or Serial WAN networks with understanding of dynamic route redistribution.
This position requires the application of interpersonal skills and ability to foster and grow business relationships due to the daily interaction with internal and external customers to resolve and implement network solutions, ongoing cross-organization projects, and Network Support Team organization.
Knowledge and experience in preforming Solutions life cycle management and architecture/design is a prerequisite
-Demonstrate understanding of IP protocols at all layers of the OSI and IP Standards
-Experience with SNMP and implementing telemetry system for monitoring hardware/software.
-Understanding and working knowledge of routing protocols; EIGRP, BGP, & OSPF
-Hands on experience installing and configuring Cisco IOS routers. (2800, 3800, 3900, 7200)
-Hands on experience installing and configuring Cisco ASA firewalls (55x0, 5585)
-Understanding and experience designing and implementing QoS within MPLS, LAN, and VoIP network
-Working knowledge of layer 2 switching technologies, Vlan, spanning tree protocol, and Cisco switching best practices and procedures
-Hands on experience installing and configuring Cisco IOS & Nexus OS switches. (Nexus 7k, 5k, Catalyst 6500, 3750)
-Hands on experience installing and configuring Load balancer preferably BigIP F5
-Demonstrate ability to work directly with customers to resolve day-to-day and network issues
-Ability to interpret data captures and debug at packet level
-Configurations, hardware, and software, and document current designs
-Experience with UNIX/Linux systems
-Knowledge of load-balancer concepts
-Ability to perform research and network audits which includes router, switches, CUCM, firewall, F5
-Knowledge of Traffic Engineering and Capacity Management
-Compose and write detailed design and customer documentation as requirement
-Prefer experience with Microsoft Excel and Visio
-CCNP preferred
-Course studies in engineering, applied sciences, computer networking, and knowledge of routing protocols BGP, OSPF, & EIGRP
