Title: Performance Test Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6+ Months
Responsibilities:
The SME will be responsible for Capacity Planning and Performance Test Activities, using Loadrunner and SoapUI. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the areas of both Performance and Automated testing, with extensive technical knowledge, practical experience in carrying out testing efforts, and a background that includes implementing and maintaining an Automation or Performance testing program. He or she will be expected to provide guidance to Project Teams in various stages of maturity, and must be able to provide both technical support and assist in establishing best practices and SOPs.
Expectations
· Assist Projects to implement and maintain an effective performance or automation testing program.
· Evaluate a Project's existing performance testing or automation efforts and provide recommendations for improvements.
· Mentor and train Performance Engineers and/or Automation developers when needed.
· Track statistics of performance and automated testing programs across the company and identify outliers for further investigation.
· Identify/develop and disseminate testing best practices throughout the company.
· Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, then track and verify the results.
· Evaluate hardware and/or software tools for potential future testing efforts.
Required Skills
· Aptitude for solving complex analytical and technical problems
· Ability to identify and advocate for excellence
· Unix, Loadrunner, C++
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong collaboration skills
· Training/Teaching/Mentoring mindset (actual experience a plus)
Required Experience
· 7+ Years overall testing experience, including:
· 2+ Years of Performance Testing
· Bachelor's degree with major in computer science
