Position: Linux/Unix Service Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: Long Term
Interview Mode: Phone / Skype / F2F for local candidates
Job responsibilities:
• Administer complex Unix-based systems in a multi-tiered architecture, generally from the operating system or application level and up.
• Assist with debugging of issues in both the production environment as well as the staging environment
• Work closely with the Dev/QA team on new projects/requirements to ensure changes are sound and maintainable in production
• Be part of Mobile SE team helping with production launches as well as code pushes
• Take on-call rotations
• Be able to communicate issues and resolutions to a wide audience
• Ensure that issues are dealt with in a timely fashion, and work to ensure that they only happen once
• Operate in a team spread out across the globe
Job Qualifications:
Preference for and experience working with Unix-based servers and open source software; Client uses FreeBSD, LAMP (Linux, Apache, PHP, Nagios and MySQL) and the ideal candidate should be comfortable with all of these technologies.
• Ability to debug issues on a Unix environment in a multi-tiered architecture
• Extensive Linux system administration background
• Understanding of common internet protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, etc.) and ways to troubleshoot these
• Understanding of common network technologies (Akamai, VIPs, GSLB, etc.)
• Understanding of redundancy and reliability and ways to achieve these
• Ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously with multiple requirements
• Thorough understanding of the software development life-cycle
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Desire to work as a part of a team; strong interpersonal skills relating to cooperation and collaboration
• Drive to take on responsibilities and do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, including application and network-level troubleshooting ability
• Strong programming skills in one or more of: C, Perl, Python, Ruby
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with development teams
• 5+ years experience with Linux (RHEL a plus)
• 5+ years experience administering large-scale UNIX installations (ISP background a plus)
• Experience with SQL and commonly deployed database systems
• Degree in Computer Science
Position : 2
Server Side Developer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 6 Months+ (long term, extendable after every 6 months)
Phone/SKype/ F2F for locals
Description:
• Experience in software development as a Software Engineer (Min 7+ yrs), with Strong background as server side developer
• Should have experience in Server side programming experience in j2EE , backend java, C++(Min 5+ yrs)
• Must have handled huge backend systems
• Good understanding of database design and SQL
• Should be able to manage the onsite team & ensure / track the smooth delivery of the project deliverables
• Excellent written & communication skills
